The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and the US Crime Prevention Council (NCPC) have launched the Go For Real™ campaign. This initiative is designed to ensure that consumers, especially tweens and teens are not misled by those criminals behind counterfeit products and are aware of the serious harms associated with purchasing fakes.
The Go For Real™ campaign uses a variety of engaging tools, including public service announcements (PSAs), radio ads and educational materials, to change buying behaviors and raise awareness about the real damage caused by counterfeit goods. Through this campaign, young consumers are empowered to make informed choices and avoid the risks associated with fake products.
Get involved with the Go For Real™ campaign through Public Service Announcements (PSAs), fact page and ready-to-use social media content for Facebook, Instagram and X.
These tools are designed to help you spread the word and raise awareness about the dangers of counterfeit products.

Test your skills. Identify counterfeit goods with an online game.
This interactive online game is designed to engage and educate participants on how to identify counterfeit goods sold online.
It’s always tempting to get a bargain, but have you ever wondered who really gets hurt?
The truth is, buying counterfeit products puts many people at risk. Counterfeits compromise the safety and security of consumers while stealing from popular legitimate brands that invest heavily in research, development and safety features.
Shoddy counterfeits not only damage the reputations of trusted brands, but they also pose serious health and safety risks. Counterfeit electronics can malfunction, catch fire, or bring malware into your devices. Fake cosmetics often contain harmful ingredients that you really don’t want to put on your skin!
