The sixth joint IATA–UPU webinar will focus on overall readiness for, expectations of, and challenges posed by compliance with mail transport requirements under the European Union’s Import Control System 2, Release 2 (EU ICS2 R2), including lessons learned from the mail in transit and transhipment proof of concept. It will also focus on the complexities of safe transport and handling of lithium batteries in the postal supply chain, providing insight into the various ways to ensure compliance and minimize risk.

It aims to explore new approaches and the evolving roles and responsibilities of the main actors in the postal sector. The panel sessions are to be preceded by a keynote speech on postal reform and the relevance of the postal service in a changing economic, technological and societal context.

In line with its commitment to the security and resilience of the postal sector, the UPU International Bureau is organizing the Cybersecurity Forum 2024 in Berne, Switzerland, on 25 April 2024. The forum will seek to address the escalating cybersecurity challenges faced by the postal sector worldwide.
