Shaping tomorrow’s postal solutions: highlights from the UPU Innovation Challenge 2025

30.06.2025The third UPU Innovation Challenge took place from 21 to 23 May in Limassol, Cyprus, bringing together innovators, policymakers and postal experts from around the world. Held alongside the 33rd Conference on Postal and Delivery Economics, the event served as a laboratory for sharing fresh thinking on how postal services can adapt to a digital and sustainable future. Participants tackled three core themes powered by data integration and artificial intelligence: digital identity, circular economy logistics and the future of the universal service obligation (USO).

Capacity building

The UPU assists its member countries, particularly developing countries, to develop their postal activities. Learn more about the UPU's capacity building initiatives.

Trainpost

As part of its TRAINPOST programme, the UPU develops postal training guides and materials for managers and instructors. Models are made available to course developers.

Financial Inclusion Technical Assistance Facility

The UPU's Financial Inclusion Technical Assistance Facility (FITAF) will provide Posts with the means necessary to fill this gap through the development of digitized postal financial services.

Addressing Assistance

The UPU assists countries to design and implement national projects aimed at developing and improving national addressing systems, including national standards, databases and tools.
