Here, WIPO presents Honmono, a manga (Japanese comic) by Emiko Iwasaki that highlights the dangers of counterfeit products. This engaging narrative, developed through the Real Manga Competition in Japan, aims to raise awareness about the health and safety risks associated with counterfeit goods.

To reach a global audience, Honmono has been translated into multiple languages, including Japanese, the six official UN languages (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish), as well as various Southeast Asian languages.

All language versions can be accessed and downloaded here.

By illustrating the real-world consequences of purchasing fake items, Honmono underscores the importance of respecting intellectual property rights and supporting genuine products.
