Ransomware Prevention in the global postal sector

The DPG open webinar on “Ransomware prevention in the global postal sector” was held on 27 April from 11.00 to 13.00. It featured several experts from North America and Europe.

In all, 168 participants from 34 different countries joined the Zoom webinar. There was a strong focus on the fact that ransomware attacks have become increasingly prevalent globally with incidences of attacks in the global postal sector being reported with alarming regularity. These attacks have become more frequent, destructive and impactful in recent years, affecting critical infrastructure organizations, with the postal sector being especially vulnerable.
The invited cybersecurity experts and practitioners provided well-received insight into the latest ransomware trends, statistics and facts, including references to supply chain attacks, double extortion, and ransomware as a service, and delivered a comprehensive suite of best practices and resources to prevent, protect against and respond to a ransomware attack.
