E-services hit cover of Union Postale magazine

The latest issue of Union Postale shows how Posts are heeding the call to 'do or die' in the face of changing customer expectations.

December's cover story considers the rise in the number of postal e-services being offered, citing results from a new UPU survey. This reveals that Posts are wising up to the importance of including such services in their business strategy. Featured too is an update on .post, the UPU's top-level internet domain, and recent efforts to get the platform up and running. Direct mail is also part of the December mix with coverage of the Direct Mail Advisory Board's recent meeting on dynamic marketing. Also under the spotlight is recent market research, proving that old habits die hard in some customers. As technologically savvy as consumers may be, some still prefer to receive business communications and advertising primarily by mail. For Posts pondering whether to jump on the financial-inclusion bandwagon, advice is on hand from the Brazilian Post, Correios. Ten years after its first partnership with a bank to open up access to financial services to the poor, Correios is about to go live with a new collaboration. The latest issue also contains links to multimedia content on news.upu.int, as well as a summary of the regional discussions on the world postal strategy and the usual round-up of UPU and industry news.
