10.05.2024 — During the UPU’s Council of Administration (CA) session on 2 May 2024 (S5), the postal regulatory community gathered at the Conference on Postal Regulation to discuss the wide variety of approaches to postal regulatory reform being adopted by governments and policymakers in response to market trends, technological innovations and the surge in customer demand for e-commerce.

30.04.2024 — Postal experts and cybersecurity consultants addressed escalating cybersecurity challenges faced by the postal sector worldwide during the UPU’s Cybersecurity Forum on 25 April 2024.

02.04.2024 — In commemoration of the 150th anniversary and on the occasion of Women's History Month in March, the UPU has embarked on a global campaign to spotlight the pivotal role of women in shaping the history of not only Posts, but also of nations. To this end, it has launched two powerful campaigns: #PostalWomen and #SheStamps.
 

12.03.2024 — The pledge was made as part of the Mahé Declaration adopted at the close of the UPU’s first-ever SIDS Postal Leaders Forum, which took place 5-7 March in Mahé, Seychelles, and focused on digitalization and sustainable growth boosters for small island developing states (SIDS).

05.03.2024 — The Universal Postal Union (UPU) – the United Nations specialized agency for international postal cooperation – opened its inaugural postal development forum for small island developing states (SIDS) in Mahé, Seychelles, today.

With the adoption of its inaugural gender equality policy and the completion of the UPU’s first-ever gender capacity assessment, the UPU is preparing the ground for the new, modern postal sector, which capitalizes on its diversity and thrives by providing equal opportunities for all.

15.12.2023 — The Universal Postal Union (UPU) celebrates its 150th anniversary in 2024. On this historic occasion, the UPU will host its first-ever international academic colloquium, welcoming 40 academics and historians as well as philatelists from over 16 countries around the globe.

The Universal Postal Union (UPU) launched the first TradePost Awards during its inaugural TradePost Forum held in Geneva, Switzerland. Côte d’Ivoire, Canada and Germany were announced as the winners in the three official categories, and India received an award in a special category dedicated to trade initiatives promoting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on gender equality and climate action.
